Drakos Urgent Care is looking for a Physician Associate (“PA”) to join our team! The PA will provide direct patient care in a pediatric urgent care setting. As a team, they will help treat various injuries, illnesses, and diseases in patients ages newborn - 20 years old.
The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, a passion for caring for pediatric and adult patients, and the ability to multitask independently and on a team.
Additionally, candidates must relate and connect with the pediatric population and possess the necessary communication skills to explain diagnosis/treatment plans to children and adults.
As a Physician Associate, you will collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality medical care to our patients.
Your clinical expertise, excellent communication skills, and commitment to patient care will be essential in delivering innovative healthcare solutions and improving patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Conduct comprehensive medical assessments, including medical history reviews, physical examinations, and ordering diagnostic tests.
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions, providing evidence-based medical interventions.
- Develop individualized treatment plans for patients, prescribing medications, therapies, and lifestyle interventions.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed for optimal health outcomes.
- Perform medical procedures, such as wound care, suturing, casting, and administering injections, under the guidance of physicians.
- Assist in surgical procedures as required and provide post-operative care.
- Educate patients and their families on medical conditions, treatment options, and preventive care measures.
- Offer counseling on lifestyle modifications and health promotion.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical histories, examination findings, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Adhere to regulatory requirements and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care and continuity of treatment.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care outcomes and promote evidence-based practices.
- Contribute to clinical research projects and stay updated on medical advancements.
- Advocate for the well-being of patients, ensuring their preferences and concerns are addressed in their healthcare journey.
- Serve as a resource for patients in navigating healthcare services and making informed decisions.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
- Current and unrestricted Physician Assistant license in the state where Drakos Dynamics operates.
- Certification as a Physician Assistant from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Proven experience as a Physician Assistant, preferably in primary care, internal medicine, or a related specialty.
- Strong clinical skills and the ability to independently assess and manage patients.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Empathy and a patient-centered approach to healthcare delivery.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse healthcare team.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
