Drakos Urgent Care is looking for a Physician Associate (“PA”) to join our team! The PA will provide direct patient care in a pediatric urgent care setting. As a team, they will help treat various injuries, illnesses, and diseases in patients ages newborn - 20 years old.

The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, a passion for caring for pediatric and adult patients, and the ability to multitask independently and on a team.

Additionally, candidates must relate and connect with the pediatric population and possess the necessary communication skills to explain diagnosis/treatment plans to children and adults.

As a Physician Associate, you will collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality medical care to our patients.

Your clinical expertise, excellent communication skills, and commitment to patient care will be essential in delivering innovative healthcare solutions and improving patient outcomes.

Shift/Schedule

Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Conduct comprehensive medical assessments, including medical history reviews, physical examinations, and ordering diagnostic tests.
  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions, providing evidence-based medical interventions.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans for patients, prescribing medications, therapies, and lifestyle interventions.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed for optimal health outcomes.
  • Perform medical procedures, such as wound care, suturing, casting, and administering injections, under the guidance of physicians.
  • Assist in surgical procedures as required and provide post-operative care.
  • Educate patients and their families on medical conditions, treatment options, and preventive care measures.
  • Offer counseling on lifestyle modifications and health promotion.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical histories, examination findings, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Adhere to regulatory requirements and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care and continuity of treatment.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care outcomes and promote evidence-based practices.
  • Contribute to clinical research projects and stay updated on medical advancements.
  • Advocate for the well-being of patients, ensuring their preferences and concerns are addressed in their healthcare journey.
  • Serve as a resource for patients in navigating healthcare services and making informed decisions.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
  • Current and unrestricted Physician Assistant license in the state where Drakos Dynamics operates.
  • Certification as a Physician Assistant from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Proven experience as a Physician Assistant, preferably in primary care, internal medicine, or a related specialty.
  • Strong clinical skills and the ability to independently assess and manage patients.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Empathy and a patient-centered approach to healthcare delivery.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse healthcare team.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
