As a Radiology Technologist, you will play a vital role in capturing high-quality medical images that aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Radiographic Imaging:
- Position patients correctly to obtain the required images and ensure patient comfort and safety during procedures.
- Review and evaluate radiographic images for quality, clarity, and diagnostic value.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and precise imaging results.
- Adhere to radiation safety guidelines and protocols to protect patients, staff, and yourself from unnecessary radiation exposure.
- Use shielding devices and protective equipment appropriately during imaging procedures.
- Interact with patients in a caring and professional manner, explaining procedures and answering any questions or concerns they may have.
- Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients during imaging procedures.
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration of radiographic equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or issues promptly to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient information, imaging procedures, and results in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Adhere to regulatory requirements and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care and accurate interpretation of imaging results.
- Foster a collaborative and patient-centered care environment.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field. Certification from an accredited Radiologic Technology program is required.
- Current and valid licensure or certification as a Radiologic Technologist in the state where Drakos Dynamics operates.
- CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) certification is advantageous.
- Proven experience as a Radiology Technician, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Proficiency in operating radiographic equipment and producing high-quality images.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow specific imaging protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and support staff.
- Empathy and a patient-centered approach to healthcare delivery.
- Understanding of radiation safety guidelines and best practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
