As a Medical Receptionist and Clinical Support Staff at Drakos Dynamics, you will frequently serve as the initial point of contact for our patients and their families. Your responsibilities will include seamlessly managing front desk operations while also providing essential clinical support to patients. Your responsibilities will encompass both administrative and clinical tasks, contributing to the efficient delivery of patient care in a fast-paced and dynamic urgent care environment.

Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: **Front Desk: (75%)**
- Welcome and assist patients, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience.
- Efficiently manage patient check-in and registration processes, accurately collecting and verifying patient information.
- Answer incoming calls and emails, addressing patient inquiries, scheduling appointments, and directing calls to the appropriate departments or individuals.
- Assist in maintaining an organized and clean front desk area.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a seamless patient experience and efficient clinic operations.
- Coordinate patient flow and prioritize cases based on medical urgency. ** Clinical Support: (25%) **
- Perform initial patient assessments and triage to determine urgency.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a seamless patient experience and efficient clinic operations.
- Perform basic medical procedures, such as wound care, splinting, and assisting with minor surgical procedures, under the supervision of a healthcare provider.
- Respond to medical emergencies within the urgent care facility, including cardiac events, respiratory distress, and other acute conditions.
- Administer emergency medical interventions and treatments as necessary.
- Coordinate and execute the safe transfer of patients to hospitals or other healthcare facilities if advanced care is required.
- Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
- Ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is required.
- CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Strong knowledge of emergency medical procedures and protocols.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions in high-stress situations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Empathetic and patient-focused approach to customer service.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy standards.
